Garf's Mom contacted us for help. When we heard that he is frequently urinating in small amounts in inappropriate areas, bells went off and we knew he needed to be seen right away. Male cats can get crystals in their urinary tract. It is very painful, similar to kidney stones in a human. These crystals continue to collect, eventually blocking the urinary flow. We are not vets and certainly do not diagnose any illness, we simply advise the owner of our concerns and why. We also advise what portion of the expense Bailey's is able to cover.
Alex Vet was able to squeeze him in on an emergency basis. Garf is being treated for Idiopathic Cystitis. Lab reports will come back on Monday. They vet was not able to get a urine sample, but his mom was given a urine sample kit and will get it back to the vet. His treatment consists of antibiotics, probiotic/prebiotics and pain medication.
